Why a binary label is not enough

“Drinks” and “does not drink” hide the parts that make a behavior useful to track: amount, timing, frequency, and change over time. A meta-analysis of chronic alcohol consumption found effects across the male gonadal axis, but study populations and exposure patterns vary.

The product should therefore make the behavior inspectable without pretending that one rule produces the same numerical outcome for everyone.

Pattern first

  • A single occasion belongs to a different context than a repeated pattern.
  • A check-in should be quick enough to use honestly.
  • Progress should show change across dates, not reward a perfect-looking answer.

Where it appears in Dr. Testo

Alcohol is not one of the four fixed Core actions. It can appear as a Personal Priority for higher weekly patterns or as an Optional Signal for moderate patterns. The same surface holds the action and its record, keeping education connected to execution.
